Participate in research!
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Rehabilitation Neuroscience Laboratory's research!
Our goal is to further understand brain functioning and its relationship to human behavior. We strive to conduct scientifically sound studies that provide us information about real-world functioning. We recognize the importance of examining patterns within patient groups as this can inform diagnosis or treatment of specific conditions, while also respecting individual differences. We conduct studies that will make a difference in people’s lives by improving patient care. This is accomplished using interdisciplinary teams of researchers and clinicians.
Please see the brochure on the right of this page for more information about participating in our research, follow this link, or continue to read below.
Information about volunteering for a study
What is a research volunteer database (or registry)?
A research registry is a list of people who have agreed to be contacted about future opportunities to participate in research. Enrolling in our confidential and secure participant database will allow us to contact you when there is a study for which you may be eligible. You may agree or decline to participate in any study for which you are invited. If you decline, we will keep your name in the database and notify you of future studies. You may withdraw from the database at any time.
What can I expect if I sign up for the registry?
Taking part in the registry does not obligate you to be a part of any research project.
- It does mean that you will be contacted for studies that you may be eligible for.
- Requirements for each study will be different.
- A full explanation of the study will be provided when you are invited, so that you can decide whether or not you wish to participate.
- Some individuals in the registry may never be contacted.
- You can agree to participate in some studies and decline to participate in others.
This research is conducted at the University of Missouri.
